What the address is for
- A figure that is wrong. Send the address of our page and the operator page that contradicts it. The correction and a new check date go up in the same week.
- An operator putting the record straight. Send the page on your own site that states the current terms for Australia — we quote published pages, not emails.
- Advertising and partnerships. What commission does and does not buy is on the advertising disclosure page; the order of a table is not part of it.
- Privacy requests. What we hold, and how little of it there is, is set out under data we keep and for how long.
What we cannot do
We are not a casino. There are no accounts here, no deposits, no withdrawals and no bonus for us to release. If money is stuck at an operator, that operator's support desk is the first step; where a service breaches the Interactive Gambling Act 2001, the complaint goes to the Australian Communications and Media Authority — acma.gov.au. We cannot chase a payout, unlock an account or lift a self-exclusion for you.
If gambling has stopped being a game
Gambling Help Online — 1800 858 858, free and confidential, around the clock. Self-exclusion from Australian-licensed services goes through BetStop, the National Self-Exclusion Register — betstop.gov.au. In a crisis, Lifeline 13 11 14. Our own position is on the responsible gambling page.
What makes a correction quick to act on
Almost every message we cannot act on fails on the same thing: it says a number here is wrong without saying where the right number is published. We do not change a figure because someone asserts a different one — we change it when the operator's own page, a regulator's register or a payment provider's schedule says otherwise, because that page is what a reader can go and check afterwards. So the useful message is short and has two links in it: the address on this site that carries the claim, and the page that contradicts it.
Two more things save a round trip. Say which market you are reading as, because terms differ by country and an Australian account is not the same product as the one described in an operator's global terms. And say when you looked: offers are versioned, they change without notice, and a screenshot from three months ago and today's terms page can both be accurate. Where a claim turns out to rest on something we can no longer verify, the claim comes off the page rather than getting a softer wording — the reasoning behind that is on our rating method page.
Who answers
The editorial team, under the byline that stands on every page here. We read everything that arrives, corrections first; a message about a figure is usually answered within five working days.
